Time to celebrate Hitman fans, as 2016 could be the year of the Hitman! Not only is there a brand new game coming out in March, but some of the older ones are coming to Xbox One through backwards compatibility.
And according to developer IO Interactive, it all begins with Hitman Absolution.
IO studio head Hannes Seifert told ‘WorthPlaying’ that the timings would be decided by Microsoft, and that all of the studio’s games were being considered for backwards compatibility. Meaning fans could eventually get their hands on Blood Money and the Hitman HD Trilogy.
In the meantime, PS4 and PC pre-order customers can check out the prologue from the new Hitman game as part of this weekends beta. The beta takes place in the ICA training facility, where a young Agent 47 meets his future handler Diana Burnwood. Typical Hitman stuff then.
It features two freeform training hits, which are designed to introduce players to the in-game mechanics. Hitman launches its first episode on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 11. Additional episodes will be released from April.
